Elzybells Christmas

Ok, so I am very, very behind with my Christmas cards, so little time, too many to make, so I'm just going to see how many I do and not not stress myself out about it. I do love these Elzybells images and I'm going to be playing with a few so that they don't feel nelected. They are so simple and lovely to colour and they are great for paper piecing . I'm not feeling a bit festive , but hey ho, onwards and upwards!

See you all in September, but for now it's over and out. xxx

Sarah Kay beauty.

I just love these Sarah Kay images, they are so sweet and it's a such a shame that Stampavie went out of business. I have a significant collecton of these and thought it might be nice to colour one of them up. I've gone for blue as I used some of the gorgeous papers that my friend Diane gave to me. My image has been coloured with copics and prisma pencils and the flowers are a mixture of die cuts from magnolia and whiff of joys. The larger blue flowers have been sprayed with cosmic shimmer. My trusty old sewing machine has also made an appearance.

Lace and pearls at Dis digi designs challenge.

Another fortnight gone and August already. Where does the time go? It's a vile morning here in Bath, heavy rain and very dark, so no going out, but opportunities to craft instead methinks. This fortnight sees lace and pearls as the challenge over at Dis. We'd love it if you joined us.

Happy Birthday Troy.

So I have a lovely family barbeque later with my brother-in-law, his partner and their children as the youngest one is seven today. I can't believe that's seven years ago! Where does the time go? Anyway, he's a bit of a dude, so I made this card for him for today. I always find masculine cards quite difficult. I love my embellishments and you can't do that on boys cards! Anyway, hope he likes it!

I have also used a range of dies and vintage photo distress ink. The image has been coloured with copics and prisma pencil. The sentiment is a stampin up on form the bloomin marvelous set.

Bookatrix card

I picked up this bookatrix board recently, second hand but cheap as chips and dusted off some peel offs that I have had for years as I was feeling a bit nostalgic. My lovely friend, Diane recently emigrated and in clearing out her house she so very kindly sent her daughter round with the most mahoosive boxes of Craft goodies. I cannot tell you the words to describe the feeling of being in awe of craft stuff you've never seen before! Loads, and I mean loads of fab stamps, stickers, stashes of paper delights, all sorts of embellishments, charms, ribbons, lace, pretty flowers, dies and even a fimo manchester united chap, so that hubby didn't feel left out! And, and, and a Penny Black stamp that I have been wanting for years! I cannot believe the generosity of my lovely friend, but and it's a big but, I'd have preferred that she could have moved nearer to me instead, so that we could have played with stash together!

Anyway, here's a gorjuss girl that has never seen ink before as are the butterflies, along with my friend's ribbon and flowers and the metal flower centre.
If you're reading this Diane, I'll email soon and I promise I'm in the process of crafting a card. xx

New Di's digi challenge.

It's a very storym day here in Bath, thunder is crashing around the valley, the rain is torrential and the flashes of lightening light up a very dark house. It's been two days of it now! We had a brief respite yesterday in the day time but so far since midnight last night it's been going on and on..any thoughts of going to the Bristol Harbour festival have been abandoned...such a shame! Anyway, it's perfect get stuck in to your crafting weather! So the new challenge over at Di's today is punches and dies. Here's my little card using a lovely fairy digi from Di's store and what a cutie she is.
Do come and join us.

Morning all.

I'm just on my way out.....got new glasses to pick up...so will have to come back and edit this later on today. Anyway, over at Dis digi designs challenge we have a new challenge and it's ribbon and bows so a nice easy one.
Love, love love this cute image, reminds me of a painting I had on my wall as a child that my grandad gave me. He died when I was very young ( three) but I remember him so well as he used to spend lots of time with us. I have coloured this little cutie with my copics and the papers are freebies from a mag. Back later to enter this card into a few challenges, but don't have time just now! Not forgetting the eye strain!!

I want to improve my colouring skills.

I have recently been taking Alyce Keegans copic colouring class. She is an absoloute inspiration. I first took the whimsy class before then moving on to the skin and hair class and I love it. So much information and so much to learn and it has helped me to look at images in a different light literally! Who would have thought light source would be so complicated! So I made this card from one of Alyce's classes and it went off to a lovely friend over in Bristol. i was pretty proud of it and so that's why it went over to someone very special, who is a princess in her own right. xxxx She knows who she is!!

It took an absolute age to make, especially the colouring, but I just hope that she liked it! xx My colouring still needs a lot of work but I'm much more mindful of where I put my darks and lights and why!

Happy playing with markers.

I'm always at my happiest with my markers in my hand and a pretty image to colour. Then the fun is dressing the card up. the image is a cute Saturated Canary digi.

Saturday, 24 May 2014

Time for another challenge.

Feeling blue?

My hand is much better today. Not completely healed  but half way there. I spied this gorgeous digi over at Saturated Canary, it's called Pixie Nerd, and have had great fun colouring her in blue, using promarkers. I think I'll enter this card into the Passion for promarkers challenge, which is add a sentiment. Fortunatley this lovely digi comes complete with a sentiment too.

Saturday, 12 April 2014

Easter Saturated Canary.

Two more pretty Easter cards I made this week. Both coloured with promarkers.

Easter challenge over at Di's digi designs

Another fortnight has passed. Where does the time go? This time Di's design team have been playing with some of her lovely Easter designs. Here's my little lovely. I wanted to put a sentiment on it, but having slashed the palm of my hand with a knife this week, it's proving a little painful to hold things and is quite sore!
Do pop over and join our lovely challenge though as Easter isn't far away now!
I have made this digi quite large, one of the beauties of digital images and she has been coloured with promarkers. It's almost quite CAS for me as there aren't any additional flowers, but I wanted the lovely detailed image to be my focal point.

Restoration!

I have been feeling somewhat nostalgic in my old age and have had a go at some restoration projects recently!
Before                                                                           After

I have re-styled and conditioned the hair and knitted the outfit for this one.

.
Next up this one has had  all of her new hair sewn in plug by plug by me as well as the tiny eyelashes. I almost gave up I confess as this one took me ages and gave me very sore fingers! But her face has changed so much now she has all of her lashes!

Before
After

The next one had a broken leg, so I fixed her by restringing the body, so now she works again and the hair was all matted, so I have fixed this too.
And finally this one had blue dyed hair and wasn't in a good state as she looked like this. So I sorted out the hair and made her a new dress and now................

Before
 she looks like this.

After
So you may be thinking I have gone completely mad in my old age, but actually it's quite therapeutic seeing things that would have been probably thrown away being given new life and I've really enjoyed creating. It's a bit of a change from card making but I'm enjoying it for now!

Cinders, you shall go to the ball.

I noticed that Krista was having a sale a few weeks ago of quite a few digis that were going into retirement. Well, a few just had to slip into the old basket didn't they and here's one that I had great fun colouring with my old promarkers. I do seem to flip between promarkers and copics and go through phases using each. Is this normal, or should I ask....am I normal?? I am entering this one in to the passion for promarkers challenge which is anything goes.

Monday, 27 January 2014

I'm no wallflower!

This little lady is called Breeze and she has been coloured with promarkers for a change! The backing papers are Christmas ones and the die cuts are all from Magnolia. The sentiment is one from Lili of the Valley.

Fly free..... Leanne Ellis

I just love these Leanne Ellis stamps and I have managed to acquire quite a few courtesy of a lovely friend in Manchester. There was a bit of a tug of love war with this stamp though as my friend loved it so much that the only condition that I could acquire it from her was that I made her a card using it. It's taken me a while to complete my side of the bargain but this will duly be off in the post in the morning to my friend. I just hope that she likes it!
I have used:
Copics and prisma pencils,
Papermania papers
Off cut of Ribbon
Pin, present from a friend.
Metal butterfly Ribbon girl I think.
Poinsettia die Magnolia doohickey die.
Tim Holtz bird cage die
Walnut stain distress ink
Brad from stash.
Stampin up sentiment stamp
Sewing machine and
A whole lot of love!

Christmas in January!

Well I say it every year and I never seem to take my own advice, but I really do need to start making my Christmas cards earlier! This year I put myself through the shame of buying cards because I didn't have the time to make them all. I didn't enjoy sending bought cards out as I had absolutely no pride in them, but this year 2014 I WILL make them all! Every single one! So to kick start my pile of beauties here we go, starting with the 2013 Magnolia stamp kit stamps! I experimented a bit here...lots of die cutting and distress ink, free papers.....I WILL whittle down that humungous pile of freebie papers! And I WILL have fun along the way!.....just don't chastise me if I fail!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year all my fellow bloggers. I am sorry that I have been absent for so long but life has been chaotic, so much stress! I'm feeling so much more positive as we enter a new year and I hope that you and yours have a fabulous new year and that everything goes well. Here is a new Tilda that I treated myself to over Christmas as the guy in the red suit chose only to give me one crafty present this year! I didn't have time to leave him a letter though with a list of websites so I guess it's my own fault and to be fair the children in our family did get put first and got what they wanted, so that's more important!

Anyway, the lovely purple princess has set a challenge to make something purple. I seem to have made my last three things in this colour....am I being converted? I'm a pink kinda girl and love my pastels...what's happening to me?
Have used:
Magnolia stamps:Sakura Tilda and loving wishes.
 copics,
magnolia dies : peony petals and dragonflies lace
 inkadinkadoo stamps
Cheery Lynn pastry die
Spellbinders dies
Free papers from a magazine.
Stickles crystal glitter glue.

Peeking through the Christmas trees.

Ok folks, how is your Christmas card collection growing? Mine is emerging shall we say. I looked at the list I needed to make for and took a big gulp....am I going to do it this year? I'm not sure! I have a heap of birthdays in December as well, so I'd better get a move on.
Anyway, this little cute Edwin is from my stamp kit from Magnolia that arrived a few weeks ago. I just love this collection, as I do them all.
He has been coloured with copics and the papers were freebies from a magazine last year. I quite like how this one turned out.

Purple fairy

Hi all. With all the Halloween excitement and the wet windy weather what better than a spot of crafting. I have been extraordinarily busy of late so haven't been around much at all. Well with my crafting I have been busy, but I can't show all on my blog as some of the makes are for friends who might just be mooching around these parts!
Anyway, here's my withered fairy from Saturated Canary, all festooned in purple. You gotta love her really. I loved colouring her hair and going to town on all things purple......must have been missing my purple friend ;0) She knows who she is!

New Challenge over at Di's digi downloads.

Oh, I'm late as ever! This week over at Di's digi download challenges we have the theme of Halloween colours. I should have posted this up yesterday; naughty me, but I had a very early start at work and there wasn't time yesterday for me to post it up. So, apologies to Di and the team. I was doing something very worthwhile though, renewing my first aid certificate! I have the second part next week, so it's another long week!
Anyway here's my little Halloween project using three of Di's fab images. I had a story in mind, hence the three different pictures. It took me ages to colour and get it all together, so I hope it was worth the wait!

Cherry Blossom

Another Saturated Canary image, this time a stamp called Cherry Blossom. I fancied making a shaped card so dug out my Go Kreate dies and had a play.
She has been coloured with copics.I haven't added many embellishments as it's quite a large stamp.

Sunday Greens with a bit of love.

See  I just love this inkadinkado stamp set and I particularly love this little snowman. This was a quick and easy make, just snippets of ...
